The Evolution of a Pipe

Here, the bowl has been roughed, and the remaining materials are selected. The acylic disk, mammoth ivory and rough stem are pictured. These will all come together into a beautiful pipe. Hard to imagine...

Here, the tenon has been cut and fitted to the pipe, the acrylic disk and ivory have been carefully fitted...

A little more shaping of the bowl, and some careful fine work done, and things are starting to look pretty good...

A little work on the shank, some final polishing to the stem, and ensuring that the critical fit of the parts is perfect. Now, time to rusticate...

The wood is beautifully colored, and very even, so this one will remain a natural. All that's left is a coat of wax, and the logo for the stem...

A gorgeous little pipe is born!
